In a reflective moment, Windhorst recounted, "I vividly recall Anthony Davis' final season with the Pelicans, when I traveled to New Orleans for an off-season interview. The Pelicans faced off against the Raptors that day, and I was there to witness the Raptors, who had just acquired Leonard, in action. They were nothing short of exceptional. There was a player I had never seen play more than eight minutes in a half before, Pascal Siakam. Yet, he dominated the court. Leonard delivered a stellar performance, and so did VanVleet."
Thus, upon attending the Rockets' match in Macau, I was struck by a comparable sentiment. We had previously journeyed to Australia and Manila, eager to focus on various matters such as Irving's performance and the first-time experience of watching Flagg play live. However, upon spotting the Rockets on the opposite side of the court, my immediate thought was, 'Hold on, this team truly appears distinct.' We also engaged in conversations with Jabaari Smith Jr. and the Rockets' General Manager, Rafael Stone. There's an aura about this Rockets squad that reminds me of the Toronto Raptors from yesteryears. They possess a genuine championship chance. Listen, even before the Thunder encountered injury issues, I harbored this belief. Now, while many may attribute the Thunder's struggles to injuries, I've held this conviction for some time.
